Limo Hire

Limo Hire Information

Limo hire has become more popular in recent years. Historically limousine hire was normally for VIP's but with many more limos on the market, companies started to buy them and then let the general public hire them for their own entertainment.

Today, limo hire companies use luxury cars that are them cut in half, lengthened and then put back together. Additional seating is added to the new middle section with the addition of a bar area not un-common. The first stretched limo was created around 1928 in Arkansas, USA by the coach company Armbruster.

In more modern times, one of the most popular vehicles to use for the basis of a stretched limo is the Lincoln Town Car. From this many other specialist coach builders have involved many other vehicles including the Hummer H2 & H3, Porsche Cayenne, Range Rover, Chrysler 300C and Ford Excursions. These are able to seat anything from 6-22 passengers, depending on what license the company has.

With an abundance of vehicles available, limo hire is now more common and many limos are used for events such as a day at the races, school proms, weddings, hen & stag nights, airport travel etc.

The term limo or limousine also can encompass many other purpose built luxury vehicles that have not been stretched including the Maybach 62 and Rolls Royce Phantom.

With so many different types of limos out there in all shapes, sizes and colours, no doubt if you and some friends are looking to make that night just a bit more special, speaking to your local limo hire company would be a good idea.
