Commercial Vehicle Locks Information

As commercial vehicles will generally be carrying goods or cargo of some value on them at some point, they will always be targets to thieves. This is why there are specialist companies who will supply and fit commercial vehicle locks to ensure that your goods stay safe. Most locks that are installed by the manufacturers can be bypassed (generally in under a minute), this is why having a proper commercial vehicle lock fitted is so important. Some examples of commercial vehicle locks include;

Steel plate locks: These generally have a stainless steel face and backing plate. The plates are designed to protect against screwdriver attacks either below or above the lock itself to stop access to the cam rod or cable.

Slam locks: Slam locks are replacement cylinders that can also incorporate steel plates; they can be fitted to most makes and model of vans. They are there to replace the plastic parts of the original locking system that can be vulnerable. Many also replace the plastic handles with stainless steel. These offer a much greater degree of security and deterrent to would-be thieves.

Other locks include the Dead Lock and the armoured replacement lock- these are separated from the original locking systems and offer some of the best protection available.
