Rolls Royce / Bentley Specialists Information

Possibly seen as two of the most prestigious car brands in the world, Rolls Royce / Bentley are famous for manufacturing luxurious, quality cars for many years now.

Rolls Royce was started in March 1906 by Charles Stewart Rolls and Sir Frederick Henry Royce and their first production facility was located in Derby (all be it through the offer of cheap electricity offered by the council) on as 12.7 acre site. The factory was designed by Royce and production began in 1908. In 1931, a financially struggling, Bentley was taken over by Rolls Royce and in 1946 the production of both brands was moved to Crewe.

Known for their power, luxury and high price tag, only a small number of people will ever get to own a Rolls Royce or a Bentley. The latest Rolls Royce model is the Rolls Royce Phantom series 2 (available 2013). Costing in excess of £250,000 the new Phantom features a new 8 speed gearbox, a larger LED dashboard screen and improved audio, telecoms and connectivity systems as well as a host of other style and design refinements.

The latest Bentley available includes the Continental GT Speed. This is the fastest ever vehicle Bentley has ever produced. With a top speed of 205mph, this edition was introduced in June 2012. The Continental GT Speed is powered by a 6 litre twin turbo-charged w12 engine with an output of 660 horsepower. With a lowered ride height and an up-rated chassis & suspension package, the Bentley also has an 8 speed automatic transmission along with all-wheel drive.
